As I was slowly driving along and scoffing at the dumbass on her cell phone in the lane next to me, I felt my car start to slide on the ice and snow. I did a complete 360 on the highway, crossed all three lanes of traffic, hit the guardrail with the back of my car and bounced so hard the passenger side of my car hit the guardrail. It scared the bejesus out of me! Luckily, I was unharmed (Dumbass Cell Phone Talker stopped to ask if I was ok).
Unfortunately, I soon discovered that my 7-year old Saturn Vue with 130,000 miles and a history of eating transmissions was also fine. Yes, Sue the Vue now has a nice dent in her bumper and a little bit of scratched paint, but other than that, she is right as rain. I was really hoping this was my ticket into that new
And the worst part of all of this...after I realized my car was still drivable, I drove to the gym. To be fair, the gym was closer than my house and I wanted to get off the road quickly. I was scared and my hands were shaking. So basically, it breaks down to this: I got into an accident and not only did I NOT get a new car, I didn't even get to miss my workout. CAR ACCIDENT FAIL!
We did a very light workout of just walking a couple of miles to make sure I didn't get too sore or find out the hard way I hurt my back. Talk about dedication to losing weight!
